Christine is the author of Why She Plays: The World of Women’s Basketball, which explores the motivations of female basketball players from youth to the professional level. Her forthcoming novel, Raising Artemis (Roundfire Books, 2026), continues her tradition of illuminating powerful human–animal connections through storytelling. In addition, she is a credited screenwriter whose work has placed in dozens of competitions. Her writing has earned recognition with a Billie Award nomination and induction into three sports halls of fame.


PERFORMANCE
Christine received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University and is the recipient of the University’s Rulewater Prize.
The Journal News named her a 2008 Hudson Valley PROUD Woman of the Year and the Rockland Economic Development Commission named her as one of Rockland County's Forty Under 40 in 2009. Mount Saint Mary College awarded her the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award for her professional accomplishments.
